THE FIRST CONSULTATIVE MEETING WAS HELD WITH ACTORS IN THE VINEYARD AND WINE VALUE CHAIN
Based on the developed methodology, the Network for Rural Development of Serbia has chosen the value chain of the wine sector as one of the two chains for which the consultative process will be carried out, with the aim of assessing the state and prospects for the development of this value chain. Small wine producers were defined as the target group, and the wine sector was assessed as one of the sectors that has the potential to attract young farmers to engage in it.
The first consultative meeting was held on November 12, 2024. in Rekovac. Together with the participants and with the professional support of the network representatives, a value chain analysis, SWOT analysis was carried out, and in the final part, possible solutions and recommendations were defined.
The participants took an active part in the work and identified as one of the key problems the lack of manpower in the grape harvesting phase. The value chain of viticulture and winemaking in the Levach area is characterized by small family grape producers and several wineries that independently produce and market their wines.
The meeting was attended by 15 participants from the area of Levach and the Network for Rural Development of Serbia.
The consultative meeting was realized within the framework of the projects "Academy Farm to Fork for the green Western Balkans - our common European future", co-financed by the European Union and "Active youth - dialogue on Green Agriculture policies and the experience of the EU Common Agricultural Policy" co-financed by the Ministry of European integration of the Republic of Serbia.
