Public debate with stakeholders "Opportunities and challenges related to stimulating the green economy in agriculture and rural development in Serbia"

On Monday, March 29, 2021, a public debate with stakeholders was held in Vrnjačka Banja on topic - opportunities and challenges related to stimulating the green economy in agriculture and rural development in Serbia.

Public debate was conducted within the Networking and Advocacy for Green Economy project (NAGE) funded by the EU, where the Rural Development Network of Serbia is one of the partners.
The gathering was attended by over 20 participants - mostly representatives of CSOs from Serbia.

Through the zoom platform, the participants were introduced to the situation and national policies related to the green economy in Croatia by Mr. Darko Znaor from Croatia.

The participants were also presented with an analysis of national programs and measures for stimulating the green economy in agriculture and rural development in Serbia, with a projection on the situation in the EU prepared by Dr. Natalija Bogdanov and presented at the meeting by Vladimir Janković from Unekoop.

After the presentations, a discussion was opened on the possibilities and challenges related to the process of approximation and improvement of policies in the sector of green economy in agriculture and rural development in Serbia, in which the participants presented their opinions, proposals and suggestions.

Observations and suggestions from the public debate in Serbia will be presented to colleagues from the project partner countries and will serve as material for drafting guidelines and recommendations for improving policies in the green economy sector in agriculture and rural development in the Western Balkans.
